Southland Energy Appoints Andrew Miller as Regional Business Segment Leader

Sept. 9, 2021 — Southland Energy recently appointed Andrew Miller as Regional Business Segment Leader for its Mid-Atlantic region.  In his new role, Mr. Miller will be responsible for growing Southland’s energy efficiency and infrastructure business across the public and private sectors.

Mr. Miller brings over 30-years of experience in the industry and has an extensive background in Energy Savings Performance Contracting (ESPC). In his most recent role as General Manager of the Northeast at ESG, Mr. Miller provided oversight of nearly $800 million of design build energy efficiency and infrastructure work. He grew the business from a start-up to over $180 million in annual sales and led a team of 60 employees across seven states.

Mr. Miller graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Townson University and has held multiple leadership positions ranging from operations manager to regional manager. Early In his career, Mr. Miller worked for Chevron and CMS Viron where he was responsible for expansion into new territory and overall growth of the Northeast region.

Southland Energy Appoints Darryl Matsui as Director of Preconstruction

Aug. 21, 2021 — Southland Energy recently appointed Darryl Matsui as Director of Preconstruction. In this new role, Mr. Matsui will lead Southland Energy’s preconstruction team during the development of energy efficiency and infrastructure projects across the public and private sectors.  

“We are thrilled to welcome Darryl to the Southland team,” said Southland Energy Vice President Anthony Roner. “His proven expertise developing comprehensive energy and infrastructure projects will directly impact our clients’ project, enhancing the value we bring to them.”

Mr. Matsui brings over 30 years of experience in the industry and has an extensive energy project development background. In his most recent role as the Director of Project Development at NORESCO, Mr. Matsui delivered nearly $500 million in federal Energy Savings Performance Contract (ESPC) and Utility Energy Savings Contract (UESC) projects for various federal agencies. Prior to this, Mr. Matsui spent 15 years with the U.S. Navy’s ESPC team, planning, developing, and executing comprehensive energy programs. He led the Navy’s ESPC team in facilitating the award of approximately 20 Navy and Marine Corps ESPC delivery orders worldwide and managed the ongoing support of over 20 delivery orders during the performance phase of the contracts.

Mr. Matsui graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of the Pacific. Additionally, he has also been awarded: Member of Navy Region Southwest Energy Program Group awards for the U.S. Presidential Award for Leadership in Federal Energy Management, Secretary of the Navy Energy Excellence Award, Energy User News Award for Best Retrofit Project, and additional recognitions from the U.S. Secretary of Energy, the San Diego Regional Energy Office, and the San Diego Business Journal.
